So recently when running my rig, when idling it just makes the most god awful screeching sound. It will last for a few seconds then go away and return again. So on and so on. Checked fluids and grease and everything seemed fine. Thinking maybe clutch? How do I know for sure? Thanks in advance

Most likley the clutch or one of the bearings going bad. Crank ot up out of water and engage clutch, listen for where the sound is coming from and you will know

I agree. If you're sure everything is greased properly. I've never taken apart a Dixie but I would hope they used sealed bearings. So there's no easy way to grease them. You could have had some mud or water blow past the seals.

The bearing towards the prop is sealed and the one near the housing is not, depending on how old it is. Regardless the bearings used are shit

Bernie hit the nail on the head. Either your clutch or lower unit bearings. Just by listening you should be able to determine where the screech is coming from. Let us know what it is actually and I can help you if you have questions on how to replace.
