Is Amazon the best place to buy the basic stock vanguard exhaust? My local motor shop said $250. I found this one on amazon that seems to fit my 09 32 hp vanguard for $170ish.

You can build these for about $25 to get you by, using the flanges off your old muffler.

Have built and installed 21 sets so far, no complaints on performance and sound. Guys like them because they are cheap and easy to replace mufflers on. Run them on my BD 4500, while welding up my POS Cross over pipe. On performance modded motors, I'm still looking for a less restrictive muffler. They have a tendency to blow the guts out of the cheap Arnolds brand replacement mufflers. On a stock motor the mufflers last about two seasons before they need replaced. Mufflers only cost $5.99 so most guys carry spares in their tool kits, so they can replace them should they go bad on the river.

Have you got a cheaper set you can recommend ? Please post up, I'm open for a cheaper, better exhaust system. Some folks don't have the $$$ to be replacing high dollar exhaust every couple seasons. These will get you by.
