Hey there folks! I'm new to the forum but I have referred to the forum a few times for advice and tips. My 35 has just started to make a noise that is not consistent. I know this is beginning to sound like one of those it's making a noise post. I'm just looking for some thinking from other brains. I was thinking it could be a u-joint but after opening up the inspection plates everything checked out good! I sealed everything back up, well after greasing all the drivetrain parts, and cranked the motor( in the yard with me out of the boat) and was able to make the noise occur. It sounds like it's coming from the top right of the motor. I'm only hearing the noise after it's been under a load and I return to idle. I'll add some videos so y'all can hear the noise. I'm looking for any advice or hopefully someone who has experienced this

Idk but mine has been doing the same thing. Started on the poker run down there a few weeks ago.

I'd pull valve covers and check everything out first. Is it missing any power? It would also be worth pulling the top drive cover plate and having a look around. Something is definitely not right somewhere. Hard to tell with those vids.

I can't tell from video if you are talking about valve noise or the intermittent screech sound

Might be a slight loss in power on take off but top end is still good. I've taken off both drive covers and regressed everything. Everything looked good

The two things that come to mind are carrier bearings in lower unit and I would remove front cover and see if the coils have rubbed the flywheel

Will I was thinking the coils as well and checked those yesterday as well as checking valves. After running it I believe it's either the crank bearing or the top bearing for the belt sprocket. Anyone ever had to replace either?

The crank bearings are not rollers and are not easily serviceable .Does it do this on the trailer or only after a hard run? We're there any marks on flywheel? Flint is yours making that screech too?

I've only got it to accrue on the trailer once and have tried a bunch of time. It'll do it after running and it doesn't have to be a hard/wfo run. No marks at all on the fly wheel. I guess the housing is close enough to the crank it doesn't need a bearing? I figured there would be without looking at it but it make sense since gd doesn't have any thing about it in the manual

In the video on post #2 pay attention between 2-4 sec

In post #3 it happens at 3,6,8,10 & 14 sec

In post #4 it happens from 12-end (phone filled up on storage)
