Honda GX200 6.5HP DYNO
Ive mentioned racing go karts occassionally. Here's tonights dyno run for a 6.5hp Honda clone. Motor is built for an open class with no rules.
I once put one of these on a Swamp Runner Thai style longtail, on a 14x32 alumacraft and hit 36 near 7000 RPMs.

Re: Honda GX200 6.5HP DYNO
I took a Honda 6.5 and slapped a mod cam in it, heavy springs, 160 head, 8 degree timimg key, gov removed and exhaust.. It is on a ppf wood duck mud motor kit. It will hit 24mph on a 1036 alumacraft with just me(250) and a 20 k2.. turning about 5600rpm.. thing is stupid fun!

Re: Honda GX200 6.5HP DYNO
I bought racing Honda gx 200 from mudskipper and then put it on 15’ Grumman sport boat with swamp runner small kit, and it is slow! Maxes at 10 mph. This boat only weighs 130 pounds, I feel like something is wrong. I have tried many props, just about every size. 6.35, 6.5,, 6.5 weedless, 7 (bogged down), 9 (bogged down)
I do not know what is wrong. Not sure how to test rpm or anything but it just seems like it should boogie. I have seen YouTube videos of the same set up really moving. Any pointers would be appreciated. I’m willing to buy new motor if this is a dud. It seriously seems like it is.
