Post **need help** 37efi won't turn over, fuel pump doesnr turnon
Hey guys
Was running boat and all of the sudden engine backfired and cutoff. Sounded like a fuel issue almost like I ran out of gas so checked all lines and everything is good. Noticed that fuel pump does not energize when key is in the intermediate position. Checked all connections and retightened grounds, spark plugs sparking, but can't seem to get fuel pump to turn on. When starting engine turns but won't fire up. Could it be a relay issue? What would y'all check? Trying to get some last birds in today and tomorrow so yalls help would be really appreciated. Motor is 37efi PD with 37 hours.

Do you have a means of checking power to the pump? Meter? Test light?

I do have a test light, yes. The connections to the pump don't exactly look testable to me. They are those male/female clip in connections.

Unplug the lift pump, and probe those two wires and see if you have power there when you turn the key on.

Another thing to try is to pump the primer bulb and see if it tries to start. You probably won't make the required 42psi to run it but it'll give you an idea anyway.

What is the lift pump? The low pressure metal Dutch oven shaped fuel pump?

Problem solved thanks to Jared at Prodrive. Bad relay, jumped it wth a wire and pump came on and was able to start motor. Going to replace the relay now.

I had to replace the whole harness on my 2015 PD 37 EFI last November due to the same issue
It will continue to burn up relays if it’s not replaced Should be covered under warranty
