Post subject:  New briggs EFI and dead battery problem

I remember reading from someone on here that Briggs was going to come up with a fix for the new motors that kept the ECU from cooking itself in the event you lost battery power, did this ever happen?

I'm curious because I run my bow fishing lights off my 2 onboard batteries and am super paranoid about running one too low while idling around. Hasn't been a problem yet but it would be nice to know I'm in the clear if I accidentally ran one battery out while idling around bow fishing.

Losing power isnt a big deal, But the intermittent on/off and voltage spikes form loose connections is the main concern.
Also your engine charges up to 20 amps at idle.

I gotcha, well it may just be keeping up with it then. I thought though if you tried to crank with a dead or low battery you were at risk of killing the ECU.

I have a dual battery switch too that you can select battery 1 or 2 or both, I never change it while running but I think it's designed to be changed on the fly. I would assume that would be ill advised...
