Delta Intake and Lectron Carb
I understand most have moved to the EFI, but I'm still a peasant and working with a 4400 HDR with the single mikuni.
Has anyone replaced the mikuni with the new delta intake and lectron carb? If so, before and after results?
Is it worth the money?

Re: Delta Intake and Lectron Carb
I moved from a Black Death to a Delta intake. (Still with a Mikuni).
No really noticeable gains.. Maybe better throttle response. I'm sure Delta has Dyno results they can show you the proves results, but as end user it was hard to tell a difference.

That was my assumption, but wanted to confirm with the group. Thank you

Re: Delta Intake and Lectron Carb
I just ran 30 miles on Sunday with the Lectron carb. I only have a 6 gallon tank and I'll bet I burned 3-4 gallons tops.
I thought fuel consumption would have been worse, but it seems pretty good so far.

Re: Delta Intake and Lectron Carb
No doubt EFI should be better on gas than carb, I was just wondering if the 30% or so drop in mileage most claim with the mikuni is still there with the lectron. A few of the places I've hunted and fished are 20+ mile trips each way. Running close to 42 miles I burned right at 6 gallons in a stock genII 18x54 sbx over several trips.
If mileage and power are real close between the two aftermarket carbs, I'm not sure it'll be worth the wait and extra cash for the lectron.

1854 Garortail boat, I've got tall sides and catwalks, but otherwise empty. That was running on a river with 2-3 mph current. I went down 15 and then back up.
