Post Vanguard 35 carb adjustment
Can anyone tell me what the two adjustment screws are for on top of my mudbuddy 35 hd? And as far as idle adjustment is it the Phillips screw with the spring on the rear of the engine?

Do you know the basic adjustment for them? Or which is which?

One adjusts the mixture for cylinder #1, the other adjusts the mixture for cylinder #2.

The phillips screw on the back is the governer adjustment. The idle air screw is on the left side of carb when looking at front of engine. The idle fuel screws have the black adjustment limiters on them. Be very gentle with these as they break off easy. Some use a dremel to gently rub off the limiter on the side of the black screw cover. I use a hot knife to melt it off. Once you have it adjustable warm engine then one at a time turn screw in slowly until your hear that cylinder die off, then back screw up 1/2 to 3/4 turn. You will hear that cylinder wake back up. Repeat for other cylinder

Will, how do you find the right sir and fuel settings for these carbs? I know where the parts are to adjust them, I just don't know whether to adjust air or fuel first, and then what I'm looking for when trying to tune them properly.

Once your idle fuel screws are "adjustable" then take some time to play with it. You will be proud of yourself when you can turn the cylinders off and on with the fuel screws and you will get a feel for it. The idle screw is the easiest to play with, start there. If your engine is running good then its prob best not to mess with idle fuel simply because many people break the screws off and now have a worse problem.

Mine runs fine idling and taking off, but then trying to get in plane when it's under load it'll start acting up, you can tweak the fuel adjustments on top just a little and it'll get better but I was hesitant to cut off the plastic locks to actually adjust it.

The idle fuel screws have very little effect on fueling above idle. The jets in carb might need some very detailed cleaning

Do you know if these jets are removable or pressed in?
