Post mud bubbdy 35 fuel line?
I have a new mudbuddy 35 ran great until I put a fuel line shut off valve in the line. then not so much choked itself out and wouldn't really idle so I put a new fuel line in same size as before 5/16 without the shut off now it will backfire if coming down off full throttle and will shut off at idle the fuel filter doesn't fill up with gas if gas stays in the filter its a very small amount or nothing at all any suggestions?

I don't think so but I can check, I think it is a fuel delivery issue somewhere from the tank to the fuel filter, should the filter be full?

Ok I took the line off the fuel filter and put it in a bucket and pushed on the gas tank got some air then gas so I hooked it back up and ran the motor it ran better in the driveway and the fuel filter wasn't full but held gas and the motor didn't shut off at idle pretty much just had to re prime it thanks though, I'll get it out tomorrow hopefully so I should know for sure then but thanks again

If your boat isn't sitting up for months at a time, and your fuel tank is vented properly, I don't see any reason to have a fuel shut off valve

That's what I got from the research I did after I put one in only because the gas tank swells on hot days so I thought it was a good idea, I should have never messed with it in the first place, the gas tank is vented if I open the vent on the cap it says to store it closed and while running it open the vent so it breaths.

My boat has been outside under a tree for most of the 3 years I've had it. Don't tighten the cap except while in transit so I don't get fuel on the floor. It's on about a thread or so the rest of the time. Never had an issue. It'll be strange in 2 weeks when I move actually having it stored inside the shop. I expect to start having all sorts of problems lol

I have had to replace diaphragms in vacuum fuel pumps due to excessive swelling(pressure) in the fuel tank. Those not vented gas tanks(new ones) the EPA has forced on people prevent escaping fumes and that builds pressure and it will eventually stretch the rubber diaphragm reducing its efficiency of moving fuel. the new tanks are designed to not let out air but to let it in. Built in tanks normally do not have this type of venting.

^^^ Yeap. The new tanks suck.
Easy fix, as I've done it with many tanks. Take the cap off, under the cap there's a white ball. I normally drill it out and everything else under the cap. Works like a charm everytime
