Re: Governor spring for gatore tail
And most stock carb motors dont need or use the goverend idle spring . A couple have them but you can set idle with the carb idle screw

The governed idle is nice. Keeps the motor from bogging and stalling under load.

Re: Governor spring for gatore tail
My motor is a stage 2 but it has the stock carb without the governor idle spring. I plan on up grading the carb also. I just have finished the boat about 2 weeks ago . Just in time to take some teal and wood ducks this past weekend. Thanks for the help.

Re: Governor spring for gatore tail
I'm telling you, mine runs better than it ever has without the governor, spring and all the linkage. Idle is adjusted with the idle screw. Thing purrs at low idle. Gets straight to WOT.

Blueshamu maybe I will try that. I can always put it back if it don't work for me.

Re: Governor spring for gatore tail
Most people knock the stock carb, But having it tuned well (which is a tadbit harder) will not hinder a lot of performance.
