Pump doesn't pump anymore. I get the feeling it's either loose wires inside the top cover where the terminals go thru, or if there are electronics in there maybe something is fried.

I was having issues with the trim only working one direction, I replaced the trim switch and it worked perfectly. Next day, same thing happens. Time to install that Viper solenoid I bought!

I hooked up the solenoid per the color coded terminals, used the trim switch to toggle the trim, no movement. Checked the output of the solenoid and it's got 12V on both output wires. Not sure if that would kill the pump?

Hooked the battery straight to the pump, dead.

So... no matter why it's broke, can it be fixed?

All i know is the 2wire setups are costly. Thats why I kept using the 3-wire mercury pumps since 2007 and have had minimal issues. You can get a whole new setup for fairly cheap.

Oh and one more thing....................................... that ass avatar pic never gets old. ;)

Quick update, turns out the pump is alive. Bumped the contacts a couple of times this morning, and got it to jump. Works both directions, for now at least. Hope it holds up.
