 31 vanguard surging

Post 31 vanguard surging
Does anyone have any ideas why my go devil (31 vanguard) is surging and backfiring? Motor starts and runs great, after it warms up it starts surging bad. The Warmer it gets the worse it gets. It’s also been backfiring once warm. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Could be a cracked exhaust or broken exhaust gasket for the backfiring. If it's backfiring when you let off the throttle.
