Post subject: | Idle under load on ProDrive |
I've got a 2011 36hp Pro Drive. When it was new, it would idle in gear, in the water (under load) for hours if need be. Now it has 208 hrs. on it but when I try to idle under load, it often slowly dies after about 30 seconds. I let the motor idle and bump it into and out of gear when picking up decoys in deeper water. It starts and runs well at high rpms. I've cleaned the air filter, changed the fuel filter, changed the plugs and use fresh fuel. I've tightened and doubled all the hose clamps on the 1/4" line. The carburetor was replaced with an identical one. While idling without load, the idle is set at 1200 rpms. The fuel mixture is set at the factory and is not adjustable. Any ideas on what I need to do to get that idle back when under load? Thanks |

Definitely valve job. Mine did the same thing as yours, now my heads are reworked and it will idle in gear all day. |
