Longtail on 14x36 w pods. Had a 9x7 prop that I broke. Was getting about 3520 under load and 29 mph w 2 guys Spoke w Backwater and they suggested the 9x6 for that boat and motor. Now turning 3750 under load to get same MPH. Not really concerned about the 1-2 MPH difference but it seems that this prop also is not very good in thick lilly pads. My question, is that RPM too much for that motor? I talked w backwater and they said I can send it back and get the 9x7... I know, seems like no brainer but wanted to ask of those a lot more experienced that me. Thx |

At WFO, your motor should be at 3600-4000 if stock and boat not overloaded. The lilly pad thing could be the prop?? Back in the day, for veggies I ran a 2 blade 9x4, for the no veggie thing I had a 3blade 9x3, it ran a little faster but with less rpms. Don't know if that helps but that was my experience. |

that is what happened. picked up RPM but lost speed...need more RPM for the same speed. My Q is...can that motor run at 3800 under load or is that too much for it? In reviewing in the past I heard 3600. |
