I have a 35 Mb sport replaced heads and exuast with bps rapid
heads are Boat dr perf heds after motor warms up it pops almost backfires at idle once you it warm up and let idle for a few mins at idle and give it throttle it throws white smoke then soon clears up
motor has almost 300 hours. it only does this if idling for extended period of time not sure if its runnin too lean or bad gas boat is run weekly and only has these symptoms if left idling
not sure if i need to rejet as iam running stock carb
I will drain gas replace fuel filter and plus along with run seafoam to try and clean carb was just wanting advice on if i really needed a mikuni carb to compensate for mods

Lean pop at idle. The black limiting caps on you idle adjustment screw need to ne trimmed off so you can fully rotate them. Open up 1 full turn and you should be in the ball park. Stock carb with heads/cam I usually open 3 turns from lightly seated and adjust it until the lean pop goes away.

This is assuming you have 0 intake leaks where the carb/adapter meet and or the intake/cylinder heads meet. No tuning will fix that.

There isn't enough load on a motor at idle to really have detrimental effects. Clear it up and enjoy your engine.
