I have repaired mine and some of my buddies exhaust.Depending on material stainless, mild steel,Stainless I v groove the cracks and tig weld also brace where needed. Now on mild steel also v groove the cracks now I would tig weld but it could be mig welded with a 110 volt machine.Do not use flux core wire. Again make some braces and weld those in place.I know exhaust systems are expensive and a little welding could save some money make it better than new.I hope this helps.

1250 idle, the brackets will crack..... unbalanced propellers

Try also loosing all brackets leaving exhaust flanges properly tighten. Then look and see if there are big spaces between brackets and crankcase.
If there is try shimming(washers)between brackets and crankcase. And even enlargeing holes where brackets mount to muffler. This will relive
stress on muffler and brackets.
Mine needed welded twice in under 100 hrs., but after doing this has not cracked since! BTW been running a BPS Q 300+hrs on a 35 CDI GTR.

Spin a Briggs out of gear at 4000 rpms and tell me that the props are the only problem. That briggs by itself is an issue, plus hang a planetary on the end of the crank and dont support the crank past that rotating chunk of metal. There are all sorts of things that contribute to vibration in these things. Its not just an unbalanced or poorly balanced prop. And of course gt will tell you a big blade can't be balanced. They don't make any money off them.
