I'm leaning toward the Swamp Lite 23 with 65'' for my 14' boat. Anyone have any thoughts/reviews of this engine? How fast can I expect this engine to push a 180 lb boat, with 450 lbs total of people and duck gear?

Can this engine attach and detach easily to the Versamount? ie. can I leave the Versamount attached to the boat and take the mud motor on and off easily?

I appreciate any and all input. Buying my first mud motor is an intimidating process given the uncertainty of results and the cost. Thanks!

You'll get good info here, but the best bet would be to call Arlon or Jake with Backwater. The main thing I see on a 14' boat is making sure the transom is sufficiently braced.
