I just installed the TH Marine trim switch and I'm getting a minor electrical shock when I activate the trim. It only happens when part of my hand is touching the handle or control box, and it's only on initial activation or releasing the switch, but not while it's trimming up and down. Thoughts? Check your wiring, you either have a hot wire shorting to ground. Or you could have a ground issue, causing an unbalanced load. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

I checked for the hot wire shorting, but can't find anything. The switch is a 3 wire harness (up, down, power), and there's no ground. Not sure how I would ground it since it's a sealed plastic housing. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

From your description, I'd check and make sure you didn't offer tighten a zip tie etc. Have you tried it while it's not physically connected to the metal handle. It sounds weird, but electricity will take the path of least resistance, and any unbalanced load could be felt. It could also be a faulty switch, first check it un mounted to see if you get the same results, and report back. Also, are you using relays or just the switch? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

I can't find any issues with the wiring, and as long as my hand isn't grounding on anything metal when I push the button, there's no shock. The old switch was a metal toggle, that I assume would have grounded itself when attached to the control box. Should I have somehow run a ground wire somewhere? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Yes, try grounding the switch. Sounds like you are getting shocked my the unbalanced load. That is when you are properly grounded. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |
