| Post subject: | Striped out a bolt... |
OK, the motor is a 4400 HDR 2yrs old. I over torqued one of the 4 bolts that hold the valve cover on. Should I just get the next size bigger bolt or put a Helicoil in it... never have done this before.. Any advice would be appreciated... Thanks |

longer bolt should catch enough to hold or nut on bottom of longer bolt |

Once that heat shield is out of the way, the lower 2 are easy to reach. Same with the upper 2, just a different heat shield. #CFFITR #TheGhostBoat #whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |

Why not install a stud in the head and you won't have this problem again? Should probably come from the factory with studs in the heads but they don't so that should be one of the first corrections made at first valve setting. |

Helicoil is the best way. The heck with pulling a heat shield for a valve adjust. |
