Post Parts list
What’s the engine reference number for a Briggs 35 vertical shaft? Motor is an ‘09 pro drive. I got the numbers for a horizontal shaft but not the vertical. Also if you have a link to a parts diagram for it that’d be great too. Motor is leaking a bit of oil and it’s not coming from the lower case seal and I don’t think it’s the shaft seal either. Seems it’s coming out of a small plate that screwed into the oil sump housing. Thanks!

The numbers are on the engine, either on a plate riveted to the block or on a valvecover. Pay close attention to the recessed areas around on the rear cover. Hopefully it is just the plate gasket but those older covers like to crack in the recessed areas. The cracks are hard to see. I resealed one of those plates twice before I found the crack on one years ago

The number plates aren’t on this engine. They got take off and painted over or I would have gotten them. I’ve worked on many horizontal motors but not vertical ones. Just don’t know how different that sump case is.

Is it a CDI or non cdi?

Non-cdi - 613777 0110-E1 (was on my 07' PD)

Difference on CDI and non CDI is stator, rectifier, flywheel, coils. Block is same.

You need part #965 (page 3)

Or simply just the gasket part #943 bout $10

Shit. Sorry I forgot to mention that. It’s non cdi. It does have the illowa marine efi system which to my understanding is the same as the ecotrons. I just need the model number and series number for parts look up.
Thanks guys

Ok so I got the bolts all undone and wiring clear. What’s the trick to get the pto shaft out of the clutch?

The top plate comes off with the engine, then the adapter is removed from the clutch then clutch is removed from crank. Sometimes the adapter does get stuck on the splined shaft to the lower unit. The trick is to use a set of long bolts as "jacks" to push the upper and lower plates apart

Thanks guys! I’ll give it a try tonight. Never had a pro drive apart before. If it were a mb or gt I’d have it done.

So it’s got a cracked case. Prodrive has prints for the 36 and 36 marine engine. The 36 is 613700 type 0110. The marine engine is 613777 type 0113. Both have different part numbers for the sump case. This engine is a 613777 type 0110. So it’s like both engines. Even the gasket has different numbers.

So. Question is which part number do I go with or is there even a difference? Standard type or marine engine type? Standard is part #842626. Marine is part #843853

What’s the third hole for? Just a dowel pin that lines the case up better by the oil ports? I didn’t have time to get the case off last night so I’m not sure which one it is. I’ll have it off after work tonight tho. Which case is which?

This case has a pin hole leak that’s cracking so it’ll need a whole new case. Contacted delta and they’re the cheapest. Second case I’ve bought from them. Great place to deal with!
