Post Adding Momentary Forward Button to Mudbuddy
I have a HDR 37 EFI model prior to mudbuddy relocating the kill cord and replacing that with a momentary forward for the HDR models. I'm planning on adding a momentary forward button (bump) to my existing football and was wondering if anyone had wiring diagrams for an existing configuration.

Searched on MMT and saw a few threads regarding people adding them but little to no information regarding mudbuddys, primarily GTR's and ProDrives. Can't seem to find the proper diagram on mudbuddy which represents an HDR model with a momentary forward button.

For those interested here are some photos from today's project of adding the momentary forward to an older handle mudbuddy HDR.

Remove plastic football and disconnect switches from front plate. Pull switches through front handle to expose only metal structural bracket a d wiring harness. Use an angle grinder to remove a triangle piece of the bracket so the switch can fit into the handle. (See photo).

Drill holes for momentary forward switch in front handle piece ensuring the nut used to secure the switch fits between the two screw holes for the metal bracket mount and the holes two secure the two pieces of the football together. Wire the switch in as diagramed aboved in the previous post splitting the red fwd wire to the fwd on the existing switch a d to the mmt fwd switch. Off the mmt fwd switch connect the wire to the red white terminal (middle) on the existing switch. Reassembly handle and you now have a mmt fwd button to use in combination with your existing fwd neutral reverse toggle switch.

everything was prob. less than 20 bucks... I've had mine on for a while now.. not 1 prop. did exactly what the instructions he put on here all is well. The only thing I did add to was I added some 3m 5200 marine calk around the push button on the inside to keep it watertight. and of course, I always spray my connections with CorrosionX

I used these exact directions from him and have had it on for over a yr. now I guess,,, not one problem with it. I love it for getting decoys and even bumping up to the dock. Great DYI project and well worth it... thanks again brother...
