I'm leaning toward the Swamp Lite 23 with 65'' for my 14' boat. Anyone have any thoughts/reviews of this engine? How fast can I expect this engine to push a 180 lb boat, with 450 lbs total of people and duck gear? Can this engine attach and detach easily to the Versamount? ie. can I leave the Versamount attached to the boat and take the mud motor on and off easily? I appreciate any and all input. Buying my first mud motor is an intimidating process given the uncertainty of results and the cost. Thanks! |

You'll get good info here, but the best bet would be to call Arlon or Jake with Backwater. The main thing I see on a 14' boat is making sure the transom is sufficiently braced. |
