35 gatortail center console starter trouble
I have a 35 gtr center console giving me trouble, sometimes it cranks right up , most times it makes one loud click. I put a new starter and same thing.checked battery its ok. Im thinking its the wires going to clutch that ensure its not in gear but Im not familiar how that works. I can tap on it and it starts but I need it fixed, any ideas?

I JUST fixed this issue on mines. You have a 12 volt wire running from your key switch to a spade connector on your starter. It is small and sometimes gets frayed. Get you a thicker gauge wire, and replace that old wire with a thicker wire. That is ALL i did and it solved my issue altogether.

Also, as always, check your connections first. Make sure battery is good, and grounds are tight. But this solved my issue 100%

You can also check your circuit breaker

I had this problem for awhile. Replaced all of the power wire, Key wire, main wire, everything, still the dreaded click click.
Marcus (maxxis85) on here builds a little relay that you put inline with the starter. Installed almost 3 years ago and have never had the problem sense. Shoot him a PM.
