RPMS, ON 36 HP PRO DRIVE!!!!! PLEASE HELP
O.K guys help me out here. I tried to tweek the motor up TO 4200 RPM'S, what the manual recommended but it seems like is idling to fast. Is around 2000 RPM'S at idle. To me it seems to fast but I really don't know!!! I put it back down to 1800 but now is at 4190 open wide. This is out of the water of course. I HAVE A 2009 MODEL(NOT MARINE) WHAT IS YOUR RECOMMENDATION, THANKS.

Your idle spring and gov. spring are different. The idle screw is right next to the carb throat/air cleaner. Look between the top cover and the air cleaner (on the side of the carb). Adjust idle between 1100-1200rpm. Gov. can be set as high as 4300rpm (have my 36 set around 4250rpm) but no more or your gonna flirt with floating the valves. Set Gov. first then adjust idle.......

Not much with carbs, but I can tell you that you have your adjustments off, and DO NOT take that thing out and put it in gear running 2000 rpms at idle.
Hopefully, one of these smarter fellows on here will post up and help you out on getting it adjusted right,
If not, call KP at prodrive on Monday am, and I imagine that he can help you out.....

Re: RPMS, ON 36 HP PRO DRIVE!!!!! PLEASE HELP
Thanks guys for the info. I was able to get in touch with someone at Pro Drive today. Just a rookie trying to learn the ropes. Did not know there were was an idle screw. I guess I learned the hard way. Now is working fine. Today was my second day going out with my rig, I guess with practice I will get better at this. Again everyone has been a great help.

Re: RPMS, ON 36 HP PRO DRIVE!!!!! PLEASE HELP
I am new to this and this is an old thread I found, but where is the governor adjustment vs. the idle screw adjustment? I am experiencing the same thing on a newer 25hp PD. Thanks in advance!
