That it is very unlikely that a stage 3 motor will stay together long term?

Would it hold together much better running a very aggressive prop with heavy tip curl to bring the rpms down to a reasonable level (4400-4500)?

If a fella could keep one together for 200 hours, that would be pretty good in my book. If it is all about keeping your rpms down, seems as if the right prop may help accomplish this, yet give good performance.

I know what you got on your mind and my advice is, don't do it.

More HP = more heat and more stress on internal parts...........NO THANKS......NEVER AGAIN on a duck boat. ;)

The problem with thinking you can keep the RPMs down is you's can't. How many times have you hit a log or shallow water at WOT to have the prop come out of the water and max out the RPMs? Do that enough.........blown power head. Just my .02!

It will be fun for a little while. Just make sure you always got cell phone service where you ride for when it goes boom!

and yes, at some point, it will go boom.

Ya know, it just seems to me...and to someone else who wishes they had done this instead...that if you are gonna sink thousands into a single motor, and put it at srious risk for failure, why not spend the money on duals, keep 'em stock and you will have them forever? Same horsepower, a little more weight, but you'll always have them. If you get sick of it, sell a motor. Better than spending almost as much on a single motor that is almost guaranteed to explode before 200 hours, but that's just me.

as far as folks being worried about carrying that much of a load, I still don't understand. I'd just tell one of your friends to buy a boat.

with the dual thing, good point, but around here, it's alot more weight to push off these hard bottoms when you get stuck. extra motor, plus the boats are huge.

I would own a 20 60 dual rig if I bowfished alot though.

exactly what coondik say.... what a bunch of pu$$ies!!!!!! Do it and put a 4600RPM rev limiter on it.... that way if it does get bounced out of the water you are protected....

When building that much compression in my opinion stroke is your enemy... build it up from a 31HP Briggs or 33HP Generac and I think they will be fine...
