 Prodrive Control Box Question
Got my first Prodrive recently and only had a chance to run it once. I have a 18" tiller extension on the motor which puts the control panel at the edge of my reach. I was wondering if anyone had ever moved the control panel off the tiller before? I have two half boxes in the back and was thinking about mounting the box on one of the half boxes so it would be out of the way. Since I prefer to run the boat sitting down the controls would be easier to reach.
Any thoughts? I know that Prodrive has the remote steering package which comes with a console control setup up. Wondering if it would work the way I'm thinking.
Thanks in advance.

 Re: Prodrive Control Box Question
Just loosen the set screw under the bottom of the collar where it slides onto the tiller and you could slide the whole thing off. You would need tp lengthen the wires is all. The switches could be mounted abywhere you want them. I want to build me an extension for the box that put it out past the throttle grip myself.

 Re: Prodrive Control Box Question
You talking about mounting it on the end of the tiller? That would be perfect. A friend of mine has a 27pd with the standard tiller on it. When I drive his I tend to do most of my slow steering holding the control box not the tiller anyways.

You can put that box anywhere you want, all you gotta do is extend your wires. I was gonna do that a couple years ago but changed my mind.

x2. You can move that box wherever you want. Just make sure you solder connections and seal them up well afterward. I'm sure you could move the choke also, but may be a tad bit more difficult.

 Re: Prodrive Control Box Question
KP said it wouldn't be a problem to move the box. He recommended not putting it on the end of the tiller because it would probably break off. Think I'll run if for a little while and see if I really want to move it.
The choke shouldn't be an issue since they do it on the center and side consoles.
