Alright so getting rid of the longtail and am going to buy a surface drive. I have 15 42 war eagle and am thinking about a 23 mini. Is any one runnin one or something similar. Just trying to get an idea on speed and what not. I thought I had it all figured out on what I was gonna do but now I am wondering is it worth the change?

got one on a 14x48, it runs great. dont know the speed but it will run down a 40hp jet on the same boat. you will like the change, and it should push that just fine.

I will be getting my motor in about 3 weeks. i will let you know. gettin a mini 35(but 23hp) on a 1442 express.

i got a 23 gator tail on a 1542 im prople running 25 24 with two people....i was running with my friend who has a 16 54 paul dixon with a 4000 on the back and was running a mile or 2 slower than him through all kinds of chit. once i stop my porpoising i can probably run 27

i have a friend who has a 15 46 alweld with a homemade hunt deck with the 23 mini we ran it today and hit 24.5 on the gps with one person and 22 with two people all in deep water

i ordered a mini 23 as well and it is being shipped today going on a 1442 as soon as i get it in the water ill post speeds

I had a 1542 war eagle but i had the kawisaki 29 on mine. it was running 24-26mph and that was a duck hunting load of 2 guys and decoys and 6 gal of gas. If it were me i would go with the 27hp mini and up size your prop. It may get you alittle more top end speed and there is basicly no wight differance between the 23 or the 27.

I am running a 23 GD LT right now and it is a great running motor I was just hoping to get a little bit more speed

3peckeredbilly on here runs a 23 mini on a 1542 Geaux. Set up runs great. I have gps'ed it at about 26 mph

Well ended up buying a 23 gtr. Should be here in a couple of weeks we will have to see how it runs
