okay lets see if i can see the light there boys , in what i can remember the more area that is in contact will take less, force to move it <ie: mud motor > so it would stand to reson that if that would be true , then you would have extra power ?

uh yeah for the love of god i think it was mud doctor who did it on here and proved it that skinny displaces less water and runs faster once you factor surface area you have to factor weight

I may be wrong (just don't tell anyone), but I think Coco started building mud motors first?

wider boats are faster under load because of more area to distribute weight, narrow boats are faster with a light load because of less drag.

let me ask you, when people are trying to go set speed records why are they doin it on a narrow boat and not a fawkin 22x72 barge? Surely kyle and hoyt know what they are doin right?

:? OK, now I'm confused. How do Kyle & Hoyt fit into this???? Thought this started out as which boat is better for his ProDrive.

I would thank that a shorter boat would reach the center quicker than a longer boat makin' the shorter boat bestess suited fo stump/stobb transversin' ....... sumthin' like that ......

I often times find it very comical on here when people start talking speed of mud motors. Its like comparing speeds for a jacked up z71 vs. a jacked up F150. What does it matter? If you want speed go get an Allison drag boat and run 117 in the 1/4 mile then we'll talk speed. But if you want a MM boat get one that will get you there and back without getting stuck. Cause I garuntee you'll spend more time hung up on the stumps with a bigger boat than the time you will gain by having that extra 5mph. think about it 5mph slower on a 1 hour trip will put at maybe 10 minutes longer but you wont be tired from unhanging a boat constantly. My point/advice is get a mm boat that is designed for what it is supposed to do, go through hell and back and say "I want some more."
