 keep or sell
i have a gatortrax 1750 w/huntdeck and a mudbuddy blackdeath 5500.I live in ohio up by lake erie.I fish and hunt out of my rig. I run through backwater and bigwater. My only problem is big water. It seems that with my setup. when in a chop i'm getting soaked, water over the bow and coming over the back side of the boat.I was wondering would a excel boat 1860SWF4 be any better.Or should i just keep my setup,Or find a better boat and keep my motor.please give some feedback thanks

 Re: keep or sell
I believe the Excel will be a drier ride than the Gatortrax but I can't say for sure. On big water or any wind exposed water you are going to get some spray in any boat. There are some guys on here that have hands on experience with both of these boats so maybe they will chime in.

 Re: keep or sell
Sound like to me you need two boats. Big deep open water boat like a Lund and an outboard then just keep the one you got now for runnin in the back waters.

 Re: keep or sell
yeah thought about two boats, however saw some excel boats with 25'' sides and mine has 21'' sides, plus excel claims that there boats are drier wonder how true that is.Although i've put my setup through some roughstuff cattails, lilypads and love showing people how to run through the mud.just wanted to know if the excel boat was better than the gatortrax i have.
