45 mag will haul a load better and be a tad bit faster loaded and unloaded. I will have a loaded 2010 1750 with hd for sale pretty quick

Both motors will run out close to the same at the top end. The 45Mag will shine when you get a heavy load in the boat and the BPS Cam is put to work. Deadbird8 put the Cam and IM heads on his BD5500 and says it is a beast with the best of both worlds in terms of top end and load carrying. The BD is limited by an internal REV Limiter to 4300 RPMs. The 45Mag runs a 5100 RPM pill in its REV Limiter.

I currently have a 4000S on my 1750 HD and am upgrading the motor to a 45Mag shortly after I return from Afghanistan.

I have a 1750 Gator Trax with a BD5500 and I'm happy with it so far. With two guys and a load my boat does 28-29, 3 guys 27-28, and I took for people out once and was still going 25-26 with a large hunting load. If I had to do it again I would get the BD4500 instead because with the twin carbs you have a good top end but the bottom end torque on a stock motor is better than on mine.

You should do 30-32 with two guys and a load. Plenty fast.
