viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11495&hilit=JordyHere is a link to my review on my Nunc j 1854. I know I know it's 6" wider but you'll get the general idea. I have the before stage 1 numbers and the after stage 1 numbers also I have the before and after paint pics. You can't go wrong with an 1854 especially If your pushing it with a 35/36 horse power motor.

Nice boat! Your "trim" adjustment is the same way we stop the alum airboats from porpoising, just tighten a cresent wrench on the lip and bend down slightly until problem is resolved. Does the "trim tab" dig in or affect anything when in hard reverse? I like the idea of the "step" in the GT extreme hulls, seems like a good idea for a boat that can go backwards as well as forwards.

Re: Question about Uncle J custom boats
I have an 1848 Uncle J boat.
I have been running my GTR on the middle bolt. Thinking about trying it on the bottom bolt to see if there is a difference or not.

Re: Question about Uncle J custom boats
Whenever I get an invite from you. I'm off Friday, Saturday, Sunday!! Flat lake or the Wax. I'm down for some coots and teal. I know the wind is supposed to be blowing 15-20 Friday. Probably rough in the Wax.

Ryan, hook up with us Sunday. Bring a few boxes of shells. There are more than teal and coots in Flat Lake also. So bring your decoys.

I wouldn't consider myself as a skank, but an elite member of the "Bum-a-Hunt Club" since I lost my lease. Just throwing that out there.

Chad I have no idea where the fuck I would be going in Flat Lake. Would not mind doing that.

Re: Question about Uncle J custom boats
I have since cut off the tab on the back and had a welder fab and weld on some wedges to the bottom. It took about 3-4 adjustment runs to get it rite but now I have better reverse performance in the thick stuff, no propulsion, and gained nearly 2 mph's. A lot of ppl on here say tho that the wedges are not the solution for every boat but it worked like voodoo magic on mine.

Re: Question about Uncle J custom boats
I'm visualizing the wedges. Can you post a pic? It seems as though you needed a "hook" in the boat to keep the front end under control.
Dozyra has the boat I want except with 21" sides, a smaller underdeck gas tank, winch implement points w/power front and rear, minus the gun box. Is the gunbox waterproof?

Re: Question about Uncle J custom boats
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10436&start=0thats the thread i used whenever i had my wedges made. i made them identical but when i ran my boat with em i had to do come modifications. and no my gun box is not 100% waterproof. if it rains no water gets in from the top, but if a lot of water is in the bottom of my boat there are small areas that the water seeps into. the box is not full seal welded on the bottom. you could easily silicone it up to make it water proof i just havent gotten around to it. everything in my gun box doesnt get soaked just a little bit wet if any at all.

jordy,
if you have no "propulsion" you are dead in the water...
Porpoising maybe?
