Ogeechee river in southeast Ga. ,5 miles from my house.
My dad taught me how to fish here since i was knee high and now i have
started taking my 5 year old daughter here to teach her. On the river almost every weekend, hunting, camping, fishing.

It was a great redbreast and catfish fishery until now. they are suspecting a textile mill 40 miles upstream dumping acid. DNR thinks it may be years before the river will recover. As of now all boat ramps are barricaded.
no fishing,swimming, nothing.

Stopped at boat ramp today, roughly 50 dead fish in a pile awaiting testing, dead fish floating in the water.

i sat there at loss for words, almost to tears.

damn ,humans can be some fucing stupid.

Corporate greed @ the textile mill. "Make as much money as we can by cutting corners & dumping in the river vs paying for proper disposal. Screw the consequences, we don't vacation here."
