Already used search feature and still have a huntdeck ques
Looking for specific transom angle, length and height of huntdeck for using a GTR motor.
When I searched I found a wide range for the answers.
Transom angle it appears as though 20 degrees is the optimum angle. Is that correct?
Huntdeck length ranged from 12-20 inches in length. What do you find to be the best length and still be able to reach stick for turns and use the space for bilge/battery?
Huntdeck height appears to be 5-6 inches from the top of the transom whether it be a short or tall transom. Is that correct? What is the optimum height for trim to function properly?

Give Gator Tail a call ask for Kyle. They build boats for their motors and can answer any of your questions.

I now understand the kick-up and clearance issue, thanks for pointing that out to me. How much travel/clearance does a GTR tall transom need?

Re: Already used search feature and still have a huntdeck qu
Who is building your boat?
Be careful...
I would strongly consider having someone build it who is used to and has built a boat like you are evidently designing. Just being a good boat builder may not be what the doctor ordered especially if you are messing with a gtr on a hunt deck...
There are tried and true methods and specifics that a few post and emails probably won't cover and may or more importantly may not get you exactly what you need and want....
It isn't rocket science but it is just slapping together some aluminum like you may be able to do for a outboard....
Your questions appear to indicate that there are more you should be asking probably. Sometimes if you don't ask the right questions, you just get answers, but not necessarily the answers you needed.
Just my .02....
Good luck.

Re: Already used search feature and still have a huntdeck qu
I have been leaning towards Uncle J, but the drive from South Florida is playing a role in my decision.
A buddy of mine just had a Seminole Bateau (powered by a MB35) built by Alumitech Airboats, which is about 1.5 hours from my house. He loves his, and it performs great. Alumitech also makes a huntdeck model. They will build it anyway I want it, just as Uncle J does. My buddy wanted an Uncle J also, but didn't want to take a day and @$600-800 to drive there and back. I just like to make sure I research things completely before I spend alot of money.

Be careful, trying to save a dollar now may cost you in the long run.

I drove 13 hours and spent $400 in gas to pick up my boat from Uncle J, And it was well worth the drive!!!
