 Re: custom 1854
Looks nice!
I am looking at making a rear poling platform like the one you have on your rig. How does the platform connect to the boat? Could you take a close up pic for me? Thanks.
Also, did you make the platforms out of aluminum? How thick was the plate on the rear platform?

 Re: custom 1854
Cool set up for sure.
Here's an idea for you -- I've seen alum. boats fishing the flats before that had a piece of carpet or astro-turf attached to the bow with a piece of PVC attached to the bottom. When they got to where they were going to fish, they would flip the carpet over, letting the end with the PVC/weight dangle into the water. This would prevent hull slap from those ever-present little choppy wavelets. No hull slap = getting closer to the fish with the push pole. When ready to ride, just flip the carpet back up onto the bow and roll.
It may not bother you or the fish you are chasing, but once I hear the faintest bit of hull slap, it is all I can focus on until I prevent it. It drives me insane even when duck hunting.

Boat turned out GREAT I really like the size. Hope it runs as good as it looks. Congratulations on the build.
