 Steel Flex
I know this topic has come up before., but.......I have a small 12 foot V hull that I could use for some spots. It is a 1960's rivetted hull and I would like to put steel flex on it. Does Steel Flex only come in gallons or is it available in smaller amounts? How much does this stuff cost? Best place to purchas?
Thanks

 Re: Steel Flex
So I ended up putting Steelflex on yesterday and it turned our really good. My question, although not looking to put on a second coat, I would like to touch up a couple of spots. Can this be done without any issues the next day? I thought I read somewhere that second coats of steelflex should be applied after the first coat is tacky.
Thanks

 Re: Steel Flex
Its best to re-apply when tacky . Sand it real good and clean with acetone. Remember the thicker you put it on the easier it chips off.

 Re: Steel Flex
I'm with you tenpoint, I'm a Steel flex-GatorGlide guy but the thicker the Steel flex more it chips of for sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhIVCeQWiI4 Especially when doing a recoat Steel flex after the first coat cures. If you're going to lay it up heavy I think after grinding the aluminum with 26 grit wheel a light dusting (not a film)of zinc chromate is a good idea.
