 PD Boat and GT Motor?

Post PD Boat and GT Motor?
I'm in the market for a new boat and I wanted to go with a PD. 16x48 X with a pointed bow. How would this work with my GT 31? Would it be a little much for for my 31 or would I be OK? I originally wanted a 17x54 but I dont think my motor would push it all that well.

1648 should work quite well with a 31 hp.

gatortail is a 20 degree transom and prodrives are 15.
