Were these PD new units?

If not, was there any normal maintenance performed by the owner on these manual reverse units.

I look over my stuff before I go out knowing I'm going into a dangerous environment. But that is me. And I never had the reverse pin fall out. :D

I bent the housing that holds the pin before opener this year. It kept the pin from fully locking in. Well on the way to the blind at full speed she popped out and I damn near got ejected. It's definitely a scary feeling!

The pin doesn't just fall out, it shears off. I have broken one.

There ought to be a fail-safe mechanism in the event of a failure like the pin shearing or dropping out. The consequences of such a failure are too serious not to have one. Do the remote pullers have a lock down mechanism to prevent accidental triggering? I'm sure the prodrive engineers are on this or have already made adjustments to prevent this from happening again.

Mine broke last day of season here, but the main pin stayed in the reverse plate and i just lost the handle.

See what my post. Since then PD already fixed it for me.

Hey, guys this happened to me saturday during that poker run..
I lost my pin running wide open threw a 3 mile slu...
Didn't notice till I reached back to pull the pin....Didn't loose control ran back at 1/2 throttle open river cautiously.
Good thing that PD can't out run my guardian angel
How do I fix this my self 08pd 36 fpr manuel reverse...

As far as I can't tell it "looks" like the T handle had just simply fell out. The nut that tightens into the sleeve to hold assembly togeather is still tight.
I can't feel any rod nor see far enough into the sleeve it's possible it sheerd off... I greese my motor every 4th time I take it out as far as maintenance Goes.

But I should be able to simply put a new assembly in its place? Or will there be machine work to be done?

How the hell are the pins "falling" out? Its threaded. Even if the spring fails, the insert is threaded, it shouldn't fall completely out. Now if it wasn't tight, maybe

The pin breaks and the handle falls off. The larger part stays in the rotating plate.

Was on the phone with a PD dealer who mentioned this recall by PD. Had not heard of this so came on MMT and searched it. Holy crap!! Never had any issues yet, but part is on order, no charge.

when u buy used parts/gear, you are buying other people's junk. when it breaks there is no one to blame but yourself.

Has anyone had the pin come out but the T-shape part stay intact? Was running wide open in mine today when the foot took an immediate left turn. Scary shit for sure. When I got back in, the foot was definitely turned but it clicked back in forward like normal. I ran back a couple miles trying to get it to break loose again to no avail. I can't see an obvious problem but I don't trust it until I can get a new pin.

I've had the t handle break off, but the motor just stays in whatever position u have it in. the pin is way bigger than the little hole for the handle.
wade660, call pd and get the updated reverse.
