Need advice on go devil hull. Fast!
Ok so I found a 16/44 with a 27 lt locally for a pretty good price. My problem is the bottom of the boat is hooked and has some pretty good dents near the front. Should I pass or will it be alright?? Need to have the guy an answer within a couple of days so any help would be appreciated

That's the thing I plan on putting a surface drive on the boat

what do you want to do? duck hunt or be in a fashion parade? if u want to kill ducks and need a boat, there u go. if you want a new, fancy rig, then do that. it's really that simple.
good luck.

It's gonna suffer because of the hooks with an SD, depending on how bad they are and where they are. That's been well established by many previous posts. Flint recently filled his hooks, everything got better. Pretty decent write up on it, too. You haven't posted any pics, so your question isn't answerable for that specific boat.

The way I look at it is if you don't have a surface drive to hang on it yet then get it and fix the bottom, turn it for a little profit when you're ready to upgrade. I'm also in Georgia and I saw this boat on the Macon Craigslist. I'd offer $3200-3500 depending on how bad the bottom looks.

Kool-aid aside, I've ran in a 18x44 go devil and I was beyond impressed with how it performed.

I ran a 16 44 go devil with a 36 pro drive for a while. I had a lot of fun in that boat, it was pretty good with 3 folks in it, but it didn't like much more weight than that. It would run 26 before I modded it, stage 1 it ran 30 with just me

I'd say pass. Itll be hard to pass along a beat up rig. Keep looking. Especially if you are wanting a sd. My last boat was a 1644 with a pd and didn't really care for the combo.

Updating this thread. Just found out my friend bought this boat the OP was looking at. Haven't seen it yet but he says the bottom is not bad at all.

Re: Need advice on go devil hull. Fast!
Dents on a boat with longitudinal runners do not affect performance as much as dents on a boat with ribs running across it. You probably missed a good deal. As per DA"s post he shot you some good advice.
