IMG_2960.JPGI developed this over the summer to carry my layout boats. I got tired of just putting it in my boat and having to either dig it out.. or dig stuff out from under it. I wanted to be able to lay it flat and really strap it down good when I trailer and then throw it up vertical when I'm on the water. The brackets that lock on the gunnels are cast aluminum blocks and match the profile of the gunnel exactly.. so they are locked SOLID! There is absolutely no drilling required, they just clamp onto the gunnels. I purchased the actual boat rack off Amazon since they are pretty much dirt cheap(2 pairs for like $40). I'm sure that other boat types may use the use the same gunnel style.... just not sure which ones.
