How much will new boat builders negotiate on price.
I’ve always drooled over the Prodigy boats so last year I had some pricing quoted on a 1948 with an MB efi. Boat was pretty well equipped but not what I would call loaded. To say I had sticker shock was an understatement I followed up with the Prodigy guys who where extremely helpful but the price was so far from where I needed to be I never really negeotiated further because I simply didn’t want to waste their time (or mine). I’m still looking for a new rig and find myself always going back to that particular build sheet. I guess my question is there some room to negeotiate on Prodigy’s? I’m not looking to lowball anyone but just wondered if maybe this might be doable after all?

I agree with russ. Where are you located out of? I got a guy in breaux bridge who has built my boat and all my buddy’s boats and he can definitely build you the same exact boat you want, probably with more options, for much cheaper than prodigy

Re: How much will new boat builders negotiate on price.
Since you already have a build sheet and an idea of the boat you want definitely talk to some of the custom builders. This year I've seen some beautiful boats that look like new, then take a look at bottom and they're already trashed. I fix my share of hooked bottoms etc as long as I can get to the floor/ boat bottom near rear. Some boat designs leave no way to even get at the floor near the rear. If you can save 10k by talking to folk and have patience you should come out where you want to be and not hurt soo much when you do get some dents. Good luck with your build sir
