Post Re: Hunt Deck Pros and Cons
My boat will be open very open. Gun box and hatch is all my storage and will be in the bow with underneath open storage as well. Other than that the only other things in the hull itself is grab bar, seat bases, mud pole and push pole clamps on side of boat, and anchors, as well as removable chairs. Huntdeck on back so the hull will be nothing but open space. That's it. That's why I need floor anchors( to bungee each handle or strap each handle to keep from sliding anywhere while I'm running in a little choppy water or trailering behind truck to the camp.

with all that storage up front you need to figure out where to put your gas tank, you need 2 drain holes, dont go with pedistal mounts, Hunt deck forsure, go with riv-nuts instead of anchors. You shouldnt go with a thin boat IMO, There will always be somthing you can hit in the water! As far as builders, you will hear good and bad about all of them. Call a few of them and feel them out. Look at their welds and how they build the support stucture. (you want longitudinal stringers) The boat you are wanting a quote on will run 5,000 to 7,000 depending on the builder. Call these builders Cottonmouth, Dfou, Boat Dr, WC, Uncle J. You Might want to consider a Hybrid boat.
