The paint and turf really make it all come together. Great build, what will you be running for a motor?
Thanks Phil

Hogjaw will be putting his stock 35 GTR on it, at least for the time being. I think he's thinking about maybe going with a little more hp in the future though.

I'm dying to post that report for Justin. Give me a couple days to get through the Christmas family obligations and then we'll see how she does with the 35 GTR.

Re: 1852 New build. All done, test run this weekend.
Hogjaw sent me these pictures last night. He finally found the time to finsih up his rigging and get the motor hung. He plans to test run this Sunday, and Im sure he will have a detailed report in the review's. I think the boat looks great, and I hope Chris is pleased with the performance from it.

Re: 1852 New build. All done, test run this weekend.
With duck season over down here, I finally got the chance to finish rigging the new boat that Justin built for me. I put it in the water for the first time yesterday in Violet and had a blast running it around. The boat is stable, very comfortable to drive, and jumps up on plane as good as the much lighter 1648 that I just took this same motor from. Below is a summary of what she did. All speeds were measured with the MotionX GPS app for Iphone. I didn't get a ton of time to play with it, so the speeds were a bit all over the map and I'm fairly certain that I can do a little better with some time driving it. Next time out, I'll tool around with just me in the boat and post another report.
1852 w/Huntdeck. 3/16" bottom & 1/8" sides. 2006 35GTR - Stock w/ 138 hours - 3 Adults (Avg weight approx 175 lbs) - Deep Water at @3600 RPMs: She settled in at 24.3 MPH avg, but hit 25 for a moment - Shallow Water: Lots of slowing down for turns, but: Just at 27 MPH top speed for a brief moment
Overall, I couldn't be happier with how the boat performed and I look forward to getting everything dialed in. With a similar load, this boat did everything that my older and lighter, but shorter and more narrow, boat did in the same area. Having not touched my motor, I didn't expect a speed demon, but I'm very pleased with where it is right out of the box. It's night and day though in terms of room in the boat and comfort driving it.
Thanks to Justin again for everything you've got into this thing. This boat is much more than I could have expected and I'm very excited to run the hell out of it. I'll post some more photos of it later, but here are a couple of it finally in the water.

Your boat looks great! I am new to mud boats but your boat is almost exactly like the one I would like to have. Can you tell me if there is a purpose for the bow to angle upwards or is it just personal preference. Thanks for showing the build process.
