I was kidding too. Although I would probably think south LA was lovely, my better half would not.

Maybe I'm just mad that I don't have a new GTR rig, but maybe 20k isn't to far off. I'd even take one that slides all over hell. For 10k I'd order the Tokyo drift version of a mud boat!

She would enjoy it if you took her to the right places...though that could be hard to do with the main objective of the trip being to test drive all the mudmotors. be worth a shot though, she wouldn't know any better until you were already there.

Well, thanks to "ole stinky" and the other celebrities, I'll never vacation to LA with the old lady. I'll have to just swing a trip down for hunting season and fly solo.

That's the problem not gonna sale it without the person knowing that it slides. Would hate to put someone right back in my shoes. It's funny you GatorTail fans think I'm talking shit. When in fact I'm just telling the truth. I openly invite anyone of y'all to drive this boat and see for yourself and no I'm not bringing it to you. That makes sense Delta seeing you have double the weight on your transom. The more weight in my boat the better it turns, it's just sad that even with three people it still slides.

Got a friend of mine use to own a pro-drive hull, that thing slid worse than any hull i have ever riden in, with a little practice you can make it not slide, thats what mudd hulls do they slide, we could make it slide or we could mnake it dig. If you don't want to slide anymore buy you a ribbed bottom boat, other than that you have a fine rig i still think you should give it more time

Post Re: 17/54 Gatortail Extreme that slides.
Excuse my ignorance since you are far more educated than I on the subject of my boat take'em. The boat slides simple as that. I have tried trimming the motor down in the turns, standing on the edges of floor trying to get it to bite, and reducing the speed of the boat. All of which have insignificant to no effect at full throttle. The motor trimmed down and reduction of speed is how I am able to ride the trails so to speak. I have driven several boats and never had a problem until now. I do not need a ribbed bottom boat to not slide. A triple taper or round chine seems to perform just fine. Delta the boat carries a load well and still runs about 23-25 with 3 normal size people, and at open throttle it slid in the turns. I was driving; the other two were sitting on the yeti in front of the console. Others have driven this boat and experienced the same results as myself. I have 13 hours on it and still have not been able to figure it out. The boat also tries to porpoise unloaded with the motor trimmed up to the sweet spot. The more weight I add the better it handles. I am open to suggestions, what is the trick take'em? I will be at Caddo Lake most likely this Saturday and you are welcome to drive it.

Honest suggestion, if possible, put more weight in the back of the boat, make the ass end dig some more, from the pictures you have, just a suggestion. If the boat sits flatter in the water it will tend to slide more, jsut hate to see you get rid of a nice boat if something could be figured out. worth a try

I am going to give that a try. I thought about putting both batteries under the hunt deck on opposite sides of each other just to see how that worked out. Other than that, I do not really have any weight to move around. I am just going to have some people sit on the false transom on the next ride and see if that helps.

Battery's would be a plus, if the weight is even throughtout the boat and the boat sits level you will have sliding issues, if your boat sits lower in the ass end your sliding issues will me minimized. Have 2 people sit on both sides of your console, not necessarily on the huntdeck LOL.....you might loose one then you'll have more than a sliding issue, start with batteries. Put more weight in the back of the boat. makes it dig in turns and when making WOT turns.

1x1 square tubing welded to the bottom, dead center of the boat, maybe 6 foot long and tapered on each end, and put it up around the start of the rake.

Come on Gatortail, this boat may be in Arkansas, but they may need to keep with their outboard style easy running Hulls.

Rzr,

Have you talked to Kyle yet or anyone else at Gator-Tail about your issue?

I'm just curious about what they'd say and also curious about why the design of the hull was changed, although Delta probably knows that answer. My friends have 2 extremes on order and knowing them, they probably don't know about any design changes. I'm just trying to find out if it's something they need to be aware of and is it maybe an option to do it the old way?

Rzr

Do you have any pics of your hull bottom with the "new design" ???
