If you get drunk you not gonna know if you're stepping on the floor or on a box The paint is a lil busy but its a really nice setup

Love the boat design but the paint....not so much. Congrats on the well thought out design. The removable deck and rear boxes are slick.

Thanks bayou. I understand that the paint is not for everyone, but I wore this camo for 8 years so I am kind of partial to it. Also, the marsh is brown where I duck hunt.

That turf matched up really well with the paint.. Looking forward to seeing the finished product...

Re: Gator Trax 17x50 Hybrid Build - Progress Pics
Barnes,
I keep coming back to this to look at your designs. I hope that before I buy another, I can ride some in your boat one day.
.I think your design of the angle cut of the dry boxes are a very smart design. I find i am looking for more room when I am standing and driving. I even thought about not having dry boxes at all and just putting the ice chest there and a movable seat pod. I have enclosed cat walks, I really like that feature. Did you consider it? I find the cat walks great for so many things.
Question on the design. Where your transom meets the hunt deck, I see the aluminum is just angles straight down to the back of the huntdeck. Is this a new design feature from you or GTrax? Is there a reason for this over what they used in the past? They used to just have a piece of tubing from there to the hunt decks, which I think I like better.

I like the camo. But on the turf, I have that design but in the green. I swear it does crazy things to my eyes in the bright sun. Next time I will try to just get a solid color. I like the diamond plate that I think Gator Tail has.

Voodoo have you ever thought about going with a fold down seat? I think it will be a great idea for someone who needs more room when driving and doesn't need the storage.

Re: Gator Trax 17x50 Hybrid Build - Progress Pics
Ahhh....gotcha now.
VooDoo you are referring to the gunwale caps angling back toward the end of the huntdeck? This was GT's design. This was a design change to strengthen the hull. Now, the other tangible benefit from this design change. How many times have you turned the motor as far as it would go and watch water come over the huntdeck from tracking sideways almost? How many times did you have on tennis shoes and get them soaked? I don't know about you, but it has happened to me more times than I can count! With this new design the gunwale caps actually channel and funnel water back down and away from the huntdeck. We actually tested this driving in a circle with the motor turned as far as it would go (in both directions) and even feathering the throttle as you would in normal use and the huntdeck stayed bone dry. You could actually see the water being funneled back down and away.

Barnes, what are you going to do for a stereo? You have a nice box to mount it in, but the battery may take up some space.

Re: Gator Trax 17x50 Hybrid Build - Progress Pics
Hmm, specs look good. Says it is bluetooth enabled, but if it just supports an ipod you need some kind of remote unless it is right next to you. Pretty cool though. Didn't you do something similar on the old boat? How did that one hold up?
