Post Proper Pod Contstruction
Hey everyone, I am putting Pods/sponsunes on my 15x48 fisher and I have figured out the aount of volume/flotation that will be required i just dont know the proper setup for mounting the pods like do i angle the pods up going aft or keep them level with the bottom going aft. also the amount of flotation that i am planning to add with them is going to be approximately 200lbs to offset the engine weight and give me at least 4 to 5 inches of less draft at the stern when sitting still. Currently i have a 27hp PD mounted on it and it runs really good with a light load however when loaded the boat will not plane shallow water it runs great when it is entered from deep and the speed picks up also it is very difficult to get on plane in shallow water as the skag will drag and keep the boat from planing. My guess is i need floation and that is why i am installing the pods. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Matt H.

I gained 4 inches on the tunnel I installed them on. But remember only the part under water helps. So say they are 10 in tall but only 8 inches are under water the 2 inches above does nothing. Mine where 16 wide 9 tall and 18 long pitched up 1/2 in and it wasnt enough but did plane real quick .
