I'm gonna take the leap and have a gig boat custom built. I figured it would be neat to follow the build here. Right now we are in the design phase so I'm looking for opinion and ideas. Right now my "boat" is just a pile of aluminum so we can adjust and design as needed.

This boat is 17.5 but I'm plan on an overall length on 19.5 to 20. It has a 54" floor. Now here is BBB's boat and the basic layout I'm starting with:



My boat want have as much V as Dales, and the sides will be higher.

First off I'm gonna shorten the front deck from 5, to 4 feet. I'm also gonna raise the deck flush with the front rail. I'm going to make the storage box, and seat boxes like dales boat. I'm going to add the poling platform(actually a generator platform) like dales.

So I'm thinking, I need to store the batteries somewhere? Front or back? Fuel cell? Need to have a cooler up front...

Ideas?

I dunno about batteries. I'll have to deal with that myself. I'll have 3 total. 1 in back for sure. Other 2, I dunno. Generator platform will be in my future I imagine.
