Yep, move somethin up front. I got a 12 gal tank up front and bat in back. Don't matter if I'm ridin solo, or loaded down with 4 ppl, rides the same.

I have a 16x52 weldbilt boat with a 35 hd. When loaded down it runs great, but when it's just me it porpoises something aweful!!!!! It does have trim, but the way it's balanced you can't trim it any further down at wot. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I know I can install trim tabs, but I really don't want to drill holes in my brand new transom!!! Just thought someone on here may have a great idea. Please let me know, I'm open to any suggestions. |

Put a trolling battery up front. If it stops porpoising, run all your lights to it and kill two birds with one stone. |

I installed small wedges made out of aluminum angle, works really well. I used a 2 part puddy stick to test and fine tune em before getting them welded on. Heres an illustration on how to make them, I went 6 inch long x 5 inches wide on mine. (a little more rake and surface area). |

Well, I already have my trolling battery and my fuel tank up front. I did that before I ever ran the boat. But it still porpoises. My cranking battery is in the back however. |

I know you were just kidding, bit it actually crossed my mind. One problem is, I am a big ole boy!!! I weigh 315, and there is no telling what that motor weighs also. So, you combine the two and if I were my boat I would porpoise too. lol |

Imho it would be easier and cheaper to go with wedges than move your cranking battery up front. You're gonna need some heavy duty cable to move that thing to the front. Then if you have hydraulics gotta wire that too... |

Yea, the cranking battery is staying where she is!! But, the wedges look like a great option for me!!! I would love to get some more info on them though. (What set up would (should) work best for my boat, etc.) |

Get your self a couple feet of 6"x2"x1/4 or 5/16 angle and a stick of sea repair or gas tank patch puddy and try a few different sizes, I'd go 6"x6"x1/2" and see what happens. If it runs flat go a little narrower, if it still porpoises go an inch wider myboy.

X2 on the wedges. I put them on a GD 1644 with a 31hp hyperdrive and it made a world of difference. Stopped the porpoising and gained a little speed. |

Wedges are not allways da best solution. It really depends on da boat, sumtimes just two 4" beads welded on da bottom at da rear of da boat will help. It's really hard to diagnose which will work better for your boat wit out seein it run. But if da wedges end up makin your boat run too flat then try just two beads of weld. |

The wedges pushed my boat down too flat in the water. Ground them off 2 days after I got them. Just learn to add weight up front during runs by your self. Also, the wedges slowed me down. JMO. |

I added 1 x 1 angle. After I welded it on, used a large crescent wrench to bend it to the proper angle. Had to play with it a few times to get it where it performed best. Really got the nose down. |
