Post subject: | Question for you boat experts |
There is a small split that has started leaking on my brothers boat.It is split right next to a runner. Maybe the welder got it a little to hot when making the boat. What is the best way to fix this? I know it needs to be welded but what procedure would you boat builders use? It has to be done from underneath.. Would it be best to put another piece and weld around it or just weld the split? Thanks |

Drill holes at da ends of da crack so da it does not continue to spread and crack in da future, then weld it up. just my 2 cents. |

R & B, There is a guy that builds boats in henderson, la that goes by the name of Brother. In your post you said your brothers boat and Josh thought you were talking about a boat that Brother built, and thats why he said take it to Brother. |

Couldnt have been tring to be a S.A... Aint none of them on this site... I sell land iff'n you need some.... Drill the holes and weld it top and bottom if the hull is thick enough to do it that way... .125 and up.. or a real good welder can do thin'r... |

If I can see the crack from the top, then call me and set an appoint. If it's a day I am welding, I will put a pass on it for free. Though, holes have to be drilled on eah end. One other thing.... I have never met a SA on this site.. Uncle J 2812167848 |
