 Re: pro drive handle length
If you build a hunt deck and put a PD on it, your goin to smash your hand everytime you hit something. The handle is stiff. It does not have a joint on it to enable a floating motion.
Feel free to send me a PM with any questions.

 Re: pro drive handle length
there is no way that range of motion will travel that far to smash my hand into the deck if it dose for some reason I will machine a new floating handle and sell it back to KP my buddy has a new PD and has hit some good rocks no more then 1 ft travel in handle so will see

Good luck.
FYI if you hit something hard enough that handle will come down as far as the trim roller will let it go, and its more than 1 ft.

 Re: pro drive handle length
Got a 22" huntdeck on my boat and about 9-12 " to the 1/2 box. An 18" extenction put the end of tiller about 4" forward of back edge of 1/2 box.

 Re: pro drive handle length
So if you had to make a hunt deck work what would be the best length with out hitting handle

 Re: pro drive handle length
I'd go at least 24" if it don't fit I'm sure KP would take it back. Just remember that will put the control box about 36" behind you. The box sits on the tiller sleeve. That is the one thing I'm still getting used to. I have to lean back to take it in and out of gear.

 Re: pro drive handle length
Instead of a Hunt Deck, Why dont you just put bigger Corner Gussets? You cant go wong with them. There must be a reason why PD isnt making HuntDecks on their boats. I know when I had my PD, My handle would damn near come within a foot of the floor (when I hit something)
BEFORE weldng that huntdeck in I would post a topic asking everyones opinion. I just see it being a bad thing. Shit.. I used to smash my leg when sitting down the wrong way..
Just a FYI. I am trying to look out for you.

No I thank you guys for all the input I am going to try a 18 in one and pitch the top plate back at an angle to catch water if it dose become a problem I will cut it out and redo it after all thats what they make plasma cutters and welders for right LOL

 Re: pro drive handle length
Why do you want a huntdeck anyways? The prodrives reverse doesn't throw water in the boat and if you are worried about backwash coming over the transom when your slowing down then just build the the transom to 20" and you won't have a problem. I know you have already built the hunt deck, I was just wondering what your reasons were.
