18'6 x 48 or 18'6 x 54?
I'd like y'all opinions on these two hull sizes. The boat will have 20" sides, 3/16 bottom, 1/8 sides, double bottom, small front deck (open hull). I'm gonna run a 35 GTR. The boat will be used for frogs, ducks, (1-3 hunters) and crawfish. What kind of difference in speed/handling/load carrying am I going to see in the two widths? Thanks.

Well, the 48 will be a little faster and handle a little better.
The 54 will be more stable, carry a load a little better, draft a little less water.
I like em a little wider, but that's just me.....

Unless you plan on going on skinny trails, wider is better. Use mine for frogging, fishing, and carrying the beverly hillbilly's load of shit to camp during hunting season. Love it.
